Every year in Belgium, 120,000 tonnes of surplus bread are generated. This waste is caused by a rigid industrial and consumption model – strict specifications, automated production lines – which turns the slightest error into surplus.

At No Waste Republic, bread no longer ends up in the bin: it becomes a local raw material for producing Belgian breadcrumbs, replacing imports from the other side of the world.
